In our society, people are seeking legal solutions to their problems increasingly more often. The number of civil law proceedings being brought before the courts is so high that they exceed criminal law proceedings both in numbers and in workload. The WODC is investigating, among other things, how many members of the public are resorting to legal action, how the law is functioning and the load on our legal system in administrative law, civil law and criminal law.
Some projects are of a structural nature; these projects collect information periodically. They are: the Civil and Administrative Law Administration of Justice Monitor, the Citizens' Dispute Settlement Delta, SMB Disputes and the Divorces Fact Sheet.
