Traffic safety is a key priority for the police and the judicial authorities. A small percentage of offenders is presumed to be responsible for a relatively large proportion of all traffic offences. The WODC has commissioned various studies on the issue of traffic offences. These include studies aimed at determining how enforcement efforts affect motorists' and motorcyclists' compliance with road traffic rules.
