Foreign nationals who have applied for a residence permit are either granted asylum in the Netherlands or forced to leave the country. The WODC regularly monitors the influx of asylum seekers. It has also published several research reports on this topic, including an assessment of the Modern Migration Policy Act (Wet modern migratiebeleid).
