Inspectorate SZWThe Inspectorate SZW started on 1 January 2012. The Inspectorate SZW is a combination of the organisations and activities of the former Labour Inspectorate, the Work and Income Inspectorate and the Social and Intelligence Investigation Service of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
The Inspectorate SZW works for fair, healthy and safe working conditions and socio-economic security for everyone.
General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD)The AIVD is very much in the vanguard of national security. It seeks to identify risks and threats as early as possible, before they become apparent. This is done by conducting in-depth investigations to gather intelligence material. The five main tasks of the AIVD are:
- Investigating individuals and organisations;
- Conducting security screenings;
- Promoting the security of vital sectors;
- Gathering international intelligence;
- Compiling risk and threat analyses.
Authority Financial Markets (AFM)The AFM is responisble for regulating behaviour on de financial markets in the Netherlands and supervises the conduct of all parties that are active on the savings, lending, investment and insurance markets.
Financial Intelligence Unit - Netherlands (FIU)FIU-Netherlands’ objective is to contribute, on a national and international level, to improving the quality of investigation and prosecution and to prevent and combat crime, in particular, crimes pertaining to money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
Financieel Expertise Centrum (FEC)Het Financieel Expertise Centrum (FEC) is een samenwerkingsverband tussen autoriteiten (De Nederlandse Bank, Fiod, Belastingdiens, OM, AIVD en AFM) met een toezicht-, controle-, vervolgings- of opsporingtaak in de financiële sector en is opgericht om de integriteit van deze sector te versterken. Dit doet het FEC door preventief en actief op te treden tegen dreigingen die deze integriteit aan kunnen tasten. Het FEC heeft daarnaast een belangrijke taak op het gebied van voorlichting en informatievoorziening.
Health Care Inspectorate (IGJ)The Health Care Inspectorate and the Inspectorate for Youth Care have become one organisation since 1 October 2017: the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate, part of the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
Authority for Consumer and Markets (ACM)The Netherlands Consumer Authority, the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) and the Netherlands Independent Post and Telecommunications Authority (OPTA) joined forces on april 1st 2013, creating a new regulator: the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). The ACM keeps track of the latest trends and developments for consumers and businesses. ACM looks specifically at the energy, telecommunication, transport and postal services industries, and, more in general, at free enterprise and consumer protection law.
Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA)The task of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority is to protect human and animal health. It monitors food and consumer products to safeguard public health and animal health and welfare. The Authority controls the whole production chain, from raw materials and processing aids to end products and consumption.
