Some preliminary findings of an evaluation study on police training

Summary

The main objective of the study is to answer the question whether the basic police training program prepares the uniformed police officer adequately for his job. This paper presents the resuits of the first stage of the research, the observation study. It was designed to get a better insight in actual police work, and thus to achieve preliminary evaluation of the training curriculum.
