(full text available only in Dutch)

Summary

On January 2008 the Dutch Police Data Act took effect. This act regulates how the police must handle police data, that is, personal data processed in the course of the police's performance of their duties. Audits showed in late 2011 that the implementation of the act was still inadequate in many respects, including security, authorizations, registration of the provision of data to third parties, and internal control. That's why this additional evaluation was carried out to identify the bottlenecks experienced in carrying out police duties in relation to the act.
