This study uses the ‘realist evaluation approach’ of Pawson and Tilley (1997) to examine the measures regarding asylum-seekers from safe countries and to study the development of the influx and departure of this group of asylum-seekers during the period 2013-2018; for 2018 only the first six months of the year were taken into consideration. Because we have included the influx and departure statistics for asylum-seekers from safe countries from before 2016 in the analysis, it is possible to provide some insight into the influx and departure of this group of asylum-seekers before and after the introduction of the measures.
