Summary

This report describes a research project on the possibility of integrating the justice of the peace (vrederechter) in Belgium and France into the Dutch legal system. The central questions are: how does the justice of the peace function in actual practice in the countries referred to, and can such an institution be realised in the Netherlands, and if so, in what form?
