Large cannabis farms, forced labour, illegal gambling and money laundering. These are all examples of organised crime involving millions of euros. These illegally acquired assets are often invested in legal sectors, such as real estate and the hotel and catering industry. This intermingling of the legal economy and criminal underworld is extremely worrisome. The Minister of Justice and Security places great value on research into organised crime and the fight against it.
