The study aimed to evaluate the potential costs and benefits of introducing video
conferencing in court proceedings and to identify possible non-quantifiable aspects. The
focus was on a financial-economic analysis, and an initial inventory was made of nonfinancial
aspects.
This analysis concerns only the equipment procured by law courts, custodial institutions,
and detection centres. Use made of video conferencing by other parties such as the police
and public prosecutor’s office was not analysed.
